Now, you can book Sevas at Arasavalli Temple through online. The services at the Sun temple or the Sri Suryanarayana Swamy temple at Arasavalli in the town are now available online, on the lines of that at Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, with the support of the regional business office (RBO) of the State Bank of India (SBI).
“With just a click of the mouse, devotees across the globe can access 16 sevas on the official website of the sun temple. SBI acts as a service provider,” D Rajaram Mohan Rao, regional manager of the SBI for RBO told TOI.
Sevas including Ashtottara Seva, Sahasra Namarchana, Ksheeranna Bhogam, Ksheerabhisheka Seva, Tiruveedhi Seva, Kalyana Seva and Surya Namaskaram, can be booked online by clicking on ‘e-Hundi’ in the public domain page. With fees ranging from Rs 20 to Rs 5,000, the sevas are performed every Sunday from 6 am to 3 pm.
Devotees will have to book the slot through the ‘e-Hundi’ by registering their name and gotranamas, and making the payments. SBI will collect a service charge for each transaction. “We collect Rs 10 as service charge for payments up to Rs one lakh and Rs 20 for payments above this. Devotees can also send their offerings to the temple through the ‘e-Hundi’ without cheques or any other form of mediation for the service,” Rao said.
“SBI has taken the responsibility of the online services on a pilot basis from January 30. We are also trying to improve the services by taking feedback,” said Rao. “We are also negotiating with the temple authorities over e-darshan. If e-darshan turns into a reality, we can avoid long queues and stampedes at the temple during busy festivals like Ratha Saptami, which is scheduled to be held on February 6,” he said.
“We received tremendous response from devotees all over the world on the first day itself when we launched on January 30. On the first day, we received nearly Rs 16,000 worth services, including offerings,” Rao added.
Temple officials felt that the SBI’s e-Hundi would benefit devotees who come from distant places. “Devotees can save time and effort by booking for services in advance through the e-service,” one official said.
