Edupayala Vanadurga Bhavani Temple
Durga Navaratri is the biggest festival at Vanadurga Bhavani temple near Medak in Telangana. Vana Durga Bhavani is a form of Goddess Durga. Edupayalu, a small village near Medak, is a holy place for Hindus as it has a great historical significance.
In 2023, Vana Durga Bhavani Navaratri starts on October 15 and ends on Dasara day, October 24.
The temple also hosts the second largest Jathara (fair) of Telangana region in Andhra Pradesh.
Yedupayalu means seven streams in Telugu. This sacred spot marks the confluences of seven rivulets of Manjeera River. This gives the place Edupayalu. Edupayala Jathara is the second largest fair celebrated in Telangana region after Medaram Sammakka Sarakka Jathara.
