Ardranandakari Tritiya Vrata is an auspicious austerity dedicated to the divine couple – Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. It is observed on any Tritiya (Thadiya), 3rd day in Shukla Paksha or Krishna Paksha, in any month, when Ashada Nakshatra takes place.
Lord Shiva and Goddess Bhavani are worshipped by women and mostly the white colored flowers are offered to the Adhi Dampatas. Devotees would be blessed with Soubhagya, happiness and prosperity.
The important merit of this vrata is one who listens to the Vidhi of this vrata and makes others to perform this vrata would get the place in Indraloka (Abode of Lord Indra i.e. Swargaloka – Heaven).
Ardranandakari Tritiya Vrata katha, story of this vrata is mentioned in the Matsya Purana. According to Padma Purana, it is also stated as one of the important vratas dedicated to Goddess Parvati.
Devotees also offer clothes, bedding, food grains, vegetables, etc.. to the Brahmins.
