Amavasya 2011 dates – Amavasi Calendar in 2011 or List of No Moon days in 2011

Amavasya or Amavasi is the No Moon day as per Hindu calendar. Amavasya 2011 dates or Amavasi 2011 calendar is listed in this article. Amavasya is considered as inauspicious day to perform any auspicious program in all Hindu calendars but in Tamil calendar Amavasi is the best day to perform such activities. As per North Indian calendars followed in Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, Rajasthan, etc.. Amavasya is the fifteenth day whereas in other calendars followed in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, Amavasya is the last day for a month.

Amavasya Tharpan or Amavasi Tarpan is the major ritual followed on Amavasya. Hindus offer Pinda and Shraddh karma to dead ancestors. It is also called Amavasya Pitru Tharpanam.

  3. 4 March 2011, Friday – Falgun Amavasya in North India / Magh Amavasya in other calendars.
  4. 3 April 2011, Sunday – Chaitra Amavasya in North Indian Hindi calendars / Falguna Amavasya in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Goa.
  5. 3 May 2011, Tuesday – Vaishakh Amavasya in Hindi calendars / Chaitra Amavasya in other calendars – Somvati Amavasya (Amavas starts on 2 May, Monday).
  6. 1 June 2011, Wednesday – Jyeshta Amavasya in Hindi Panchangams / Vaishakha Amavasya in other calendars – Darsh Bhavuka Amavasya – Shanishwar Jayanti – Falharini Kali Puja.

  10. 27 September 2011, Tuesday – Ashwin Amavasya in Hindi Panchangams of North India / Bhadrapad Amavasya in other calendars. Amavasya Shraddh or Mahalaya Amavasya or Pitru Amavasya. Mahalaya Durga Puja in Bengal.
