Aanivara Asthanam at Tirumala Tirupati Venkateswara Swamy Temple

Aanivara Asthanam is a ritual celebrated in July every year at Tirumala Tirupati Venkateswara Swamy. TTD organizes this ritual with festive mood. TTD cancels all the arjitha sevas such as Archana, Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva and Sahasra Deepalankara Seva during this event. In 2015, Aanivara Asthanam date is July 17.

It is a procedure performed where yearly records are submitted to the Lord. As a prelude to this, Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam was held on 14 July 2015.

Along with the submission of previous year’s records, new records for upcoming year are also allotted to the officials during Aanivara Asthanam. At the end of the ritual, ‘Thambulam’ is offered to all officials in the temple indicating the Lord’s pleasure with the temple officers. Aanivara Asthanam is performed in ‘ekantha’ (private) and is not open to the public to watch and participate.

After Aanivara Asthanam ritual, ‘Pushpa Pallaki’ is held in four Mada streets (Thirumaada Veedhulu) around the temple. The Utsava murthi, Sri Malayappa Swamy along with his consorts (Goddess Sridevi & Bhudevi) are taken in a procession on a palanquin decorated with flowers. Devotees can watch this event as it is open to public.
