4000 kg Maha laddu for Khairatabad Ganapathi

Hyderabad’s Khairatabad Ganesha 2013 will have 4,000 kg maha laddu in his hand. The mammoth Ganesh idol will hold the huge laddu made by a Tapeswaram sweet-maker of East Godavari district.

The sweet-maker particularly known for ‘Kaja’ is prepating the laddu with six-foot diameter as a special offering to Khairatabad Ganapathi.

For reference, Sri Bhaktanjaneya’s Suruchi Foods offered a laddu of 500 kg in 2010, 2,400 kg in 2011 and 3,500 Kg Laddu in 2012. The mammoth laddu has drawn attention from devotees.

Designing procedure of the mammoth laddu has begun in the last week of August 2013. Along with the owner of Suruchi Foods (Polisetty Mallibabu), more than 25 workers are working for this laddu have worn Ganesha mala after installation of Ganesha idol and Ganesh Puja.

As per the owner’s version, as the best quantity of preservatives added, the laddu would stay fresh for atleast six months. The list of ingredients used in making the laddu are: 200 kg of cashew nuts, badam (100 kg), yellow camphor (20 kg), cardamom (25 kg), Bengal gram (1000 kg), ghee (900 kg) and 1,750 kilos of sugar.

For Ganesh Chaturthi 2013, Khairatabad Ganesh Utsava Samithi is making all arrangements to install nearly 59-feet Ganesh idol which is termed as ‘Chaturmukha Gonaga Ganapathi’.
