17 July 2022 is Bonalu festival in Secunderabad Ujjaini Mahankali Temple. The annual Bonalu festival celebrated in Secunderabad & Hyderabad twin cities and other Telangana places, is celebrated for two days in Ashada masam. Lashkar Bonalu are the popular among all Bonalu festivals of the region.
As per the temple committee of Secunderabad Mahankali temple, ammavari darshanam will commence at 4 am on Sunday and will go on till 2 am the next day. About 12 lakh devotees are expected to visit the temple for darshanam during this period (Normal times) but due to Covid restrictions, this time very few limited people may attend this cultural and religious extravaganza. A queue system, one especially for women, has been put in place to avoid congestion.
The Rangam will take place on Monday, 18 July 2022, at 9.30 am and the Enugu Ambari Utsavam (procession of Goddess Mahankali idol on decked elephant) will be celebrated at 10.30 am.
