Today, 12 February 2014 Sammakka Sarakka Jathara begins in Medaram in Tadvai mandal of Warangal in Telangana region of South Indian state Andhra Pradesh.
This largest tribal fair in the world begins with ‘Saralamma Raaka’ on 12th February and ends with ‘Sammakka and Sarakka Vanapravesham’ on 15th February.
Sammakka Saralamma Jathara is celebrated during Magha Purnima, the Full Moon day which comes generally in February as per the Gregorian calendar.
