10-day Navratri – 10 colours of Durga Navratri 2010

Last year, Dark Green colour was used and the color of the Saree to wear is Dark Green. The Goddess of first day in Navratri was dressed in Dark Green coloured saree. First Day of Durga Navaratri, 2010 – Kalasha Sthapana (Ghatasthapana) – Prathami Puja or Padyami Puja – Installation of earthen pot – Ashwin Shukla Padyami (Ashwin masa Shudda Prathami) –  8 October 2010.

Last year, Orange colour was used. The Goddess of second day in Navratri was dressed in Orange coloured saree. Second Day of Durga Navaratri, 2010 – Preethi Dwitiya (Preeti Vidiya) – Ashwin Shukla Dwitiya -   9 October 2010.

Last year, White colour was used. The Goddess of third day in Navratri was dressed in white coloured saree. Third Day of Durga Navaratri – Sthana Vriddhi Gauri Vrata – Ashwin Masa Shudda Tritiya (Aswayuja Shukla Thadiya) – 10 October 2010.

Last year, Red colour was used. The Goddess of fourth day in Navratri was dressed in Red coloured saree. Fourth Day of Durga Saran Navaratri, 2010 – Bhouma Chaturthi – Ashwin Masa Shudda Chaturthi (Ashwayuja Shukla Chavithi) – 11 October 2010.

Last year, Blue colour was used. The Goddess of fifth day in Navratri was dressed in Blue coloured saree. Fifth Day of Durga Saran Navaratri, 2010 – Upang Lalitha Gauri Vrata (Sri Lalitha Panchami or Maha Panchami) – Ashwin Shudda Panchami – 12 October 2010.

Last year, Yellow colour was used. The Goddess of sixth day in Navratri was dressed in Yellow coloured saree. Sixth Day of Durga Navaratri 2010 – Maha Sashti – Ashwin Shudda Sashti – Ashwin Shudda Sashti – 13 October 2010.

Last year, Peacock Green colour was used. The Goddess of seventh day in Navratri was dressed in Peacock Green coloured saree. Seventh Day of Durga Saran Navaratri 2010 – Maha Saptami – Ashwin Shudda Saptami – Triratra Vrata Aarambha Utsava Puja (Trirathrotsavam) – 14 October 2010.

Last year, Parrot Green clour was used. The Goddess of eighth day in Navratri was dressed in Parrot Green coloured saree. Eighth Day of Durga Navaratri 2010 – Durga Ashtami (Maha Astami) – Ashwin Shudda Astami – Sri Maha Durga Puja – Goddess Saraswati Mata Puja – 15 October 2010.

Last year, Purple color was used. The Goddess of ninth day in Navratri was dressed in Purple coloured saree. Ninth Day of Durga Navaratri 2010 – Maharnavami Puja (Maha Navami) – Suhasini Puja – Ayudha Puja – Kanya Puja or Kumari Puja – Ashwin Shudda Navami – 16 October 2010.

Last year, Red colour was used. The Goddess of tenth day in Navratri was dressed in Red coloured saree. Tenth Day of Durga Navaratri, 2010 – Vijaya Dashami (Dussera / Dasara / Dussehra) – Mahishasura Vadha – Ashwin Shudda Dashami – 17 October 2010.

For Navratri 2010, the colours remain same but the day or date to use/wear will change according to Marathi / Gujarati Panchang. Local pundits will decide this. The article will be updated as soon as we get the information.
