Vishukkani Darshan held at Sabarimala Temple

The annual Vishukani darshan at Lord Ayyappa temple will be held at 4 am on Friday. Preparations for the darshan like decorating the idol with diamond-studded ornaments and garlands were completed at 10 am on Thursday.

With the opening of the Sreekovil by Melsanthi in the presence of Thantri at 4 am, the devotees will have the facility for the Vishukani darshan till 6 pm.

After the darshan, the routine poojas will be held. Special Rituals for Vishu Sahasrakalasam, laksharchana and kalabhabhishekam will be the special rituals to be held as part of the Vishu festival. As part of the sahasrakalasam to be held on Tuesday, Thantri Maheswararu performed sahasrakalasa pooja at the Sopanam.

The ritual will be concluded after kalasabhishekam on the idol of Lord Ayyappa during uchcha pooja. The thantri will conduct Brahmakalasa pooja as part of the kalabhabhishekam around 11.30 am in the presence of Melsanthi Narayanan Namboothiri.

Before the kalabhabhishekam on the idol of the Lord, the procession carrying the kalabhakalasam will be taken by circumambulating the Sreekovil.

Laksharchana, in which a dozen of scholars will take part, will be the other ritual to be held as part of the Vishu festival.

Udayasthamana pooja, pushpabhishekam and padi pooja will be the other rituals to be held at the temple.

The hill shrine will be closed on April 18 after the 15-day annual festival and Vishu celebrations.
