1 July 2014 is Vinayak Chaturthi (Angarak Yog). Angarak Yoga is an auspicious period, falls on Tuesday which coincides on Chaturthi of Shukla Paksha in every month.
This Vinayak Chaturthi falls in Ashada Month as per all Hindu calendars of Amavasyant and Purnimant Panchang. It falls in Aani Masam of Tamil calendar, Midhunam Month of Malayalam calendar and Ashar Month in Bengali Panjika.
Monthly Vinayaka Chaturthi (Masik Vinayak Chaturthi) is the Ganesh Puja festival held monthly once other than Sankashti Ganesha Chaturthi.
The Chaturthi (Fourth lunar day) which comes after Purnima (in Krishna Paksha) is known as Sankashtahara Chaturthi. And the one which comes after Amavasya (in Shukla Paksha) is referred to as Vinayak Chaturthi.
Note – Monthly Vinayak Chaturthi is different from Sankashti Chaturthi.
