Vijayadashami Vijay Muhurat is an auspicious time on Dussehra festival. In 2023, Dussehra date is October 24. Though the whole day of Vijaya Dashami is considered as auspicious, Vijay Muhurat is even more meritorious to start new ventures, pujas and many other rituals.

Shami Puja, Simollanghan, Vahana Puja, Ayudha Puja, Vidhyarambham, Aparajita Puja and Durga Visarjan are the important rituals of Dussehra. Among all the above rituals, Simollanghan and Vahana Puja are the common rituals performed during Vijay Muhurat.

In Andhra Pradesh and many other places, during Vijaya Muhurtham on Dasara, flag de-hoisting is done and after simollanghan the flag will be hoisted again.

It is to note that Vijaya Dashami is one of the sade teen muhurat (3 and half best muhurats in Hinduism).
