Vidya Lakshmi is one of the forms of Ashta Lakshmi Goddesses (Eight aspects of Lakshmi Mata). She is the Goddess of Knowledge. She is often depicted as having eight arms. She holds two lotuses in her two hands. She holds a shanka and chakra in the other two hands and a sword and a shield in the rest. Her other two hands gesture the abhaya and varada mudra. She is seen seated on a lotus.

Vidya Lakshmi bestows the wealth of Knowledge to the aspirants. Knowledge is the most important  form of wealth for the lack of it will rob you of any other wealth easily. Also all other forms of wealth chase the person having knowledge. Hence Goddess Vidya Lakshmi blesses her devotees with knowledge required to lead a life of charity and generosity and purity.
