Vasanthotsavam 2017 at Tirumala Tirupati Balaji Temple in Chaitra Masam

Vasanthotsavam is an annual seva celebrated in Tirumala Tirupati Balaji temple during Chaitra masam or Chaitra month (March – April). It is celebrated for three days – Chaitra Shukla Trayodasi, Chaitra Shukla Chaturdasi and Chaitra Pournami. In 2017, Vasantothsavam dates are – April 8, 9 and 10.

During Vasantotsavam, Lord Malayappa swamy or the Utsava murthy of the temple with his divine consorts are offered special pujas.

Vasantotsavam, one of the popular arjita sevas to Lord Tirupati Venkateshwara, begins with Ankurarpanam on Uttarabhadra nakshatram in Tamil Panguni month. Punyavachanam, Vasthu Shanti, and Samprokshanam are performed on the day before Vasantothsavam puja. These rituals are not open to public. Snapana Thirmanjanam or a special abhishekam is performed to Lord Malayappa swamy.

Vasanthotsavam 2017 schedule

1st day, 8 April 2017, Saturday – Lord venkateswara ( Malayappa Swami and His Consorts ate taken round in procession and brought to the vasanta mantapam)

2nd day, 9 April 2017, Sunday – Srivari Rathosthavam

3rd day, 10 April 2017, Monday – Sri Rama with Sita, Lakshmana and Anjaneya and Sri Krishna with Rukmini and Satyabhama are also taken out in procession and brought to the vasanta mantapam.
