Vajreshwari Palki at Vajreshwari Yogini Devi Temple in Thane district

Vajreshwari Palki Yatra is a temple festival of Vajreshwari Yogini Devi Temple located at Vajreshwari in Thane district of Maharashtra. In 2014, Vajreshwari Palki date is April 30.

It is celebrated on the first day of Vaishakh month as per Marathi calendar. Earlier known as Vadvali which is renamed as Vajreshwari in honour of the presiding deity of the temple lies on the bank of River Tansa. The town of Vajreshwari located on the Mandagiri hillock which was a result of a volcanic eruption.

Vajreshwari Yogini Devi is a form of Goddess Devi. The temple has its reference in the Puranas. Lord Rama and Parashurama visited the temple and offered puja to Goddess Vajreshwari Devi.

Devotees believe that Lord Parashurama performed a Yagna at Vadvali and the hills of volcanic ash in the town are its residue.
