Tirumala Tirupati Temple to get Rs 52000 Crores insurance cover

Tirumala Tirupati Venkateshwara swamy temple which is the richest temple in India and the world as well will get Rs 52,000 crore insurance cover. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, Venkateshwara temple trust which manages the temple, will be buying insurance cover worth rupees 52 K crore on the jewelry of Lord Venkateswara. Tirupati temple receives more than USD 2 million every month in the form donations apart from the ticket sales and other modes of income. The number of devotees visit the temple daily may cross 70,000 approximately in an average.

The temple is said to have 20 tonnes of gold and diamond jewellery and some of them date back to the 12th century. If the insurance deal gets acceptation, Tirumala TIrupati Venkateshwara swamy temple may become the organization to hold largest insurance cover. Till now, ONGC has the largest insurance cover of $26 billion.
