Surya Grahan or Solar Eclipse which occurs on January 15, 2010, will be visible in Southern regions of India like – South Tamil Nadu and Kerala. This solar eclipse is known as Annular Solar Eclipse. This Surya Grahan will be visible in Africa, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Asia. In Asia, this Surya Grahanam will be visible in Middle East countries like Bahrain, Qatar, Dubai, Oman and Saudi Arabia. In other Asian countries, this Grahan will also be visible in Nepal, Sri Lanka, China, Malaysia, China, Singapore and Indonesia.
The Universal Time for this Surya Grahan’s greatest phase will be 07:07:39. As per Indian Standard Time, the greatest time for Surya Grahan – afternoon 1:20 hrs. The grahanam starts at 11:29 in the morning and ends at 3:46 afternoon. Surya Grahanam on January 15, 2010 will be visible in South Kerala and South Tamil Nadu. The town that may visit Surya Grahanam are – Trivandrum and Kollam in Kerala and Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Madurai, Tanjavur, Kumbakonam and Thoothukudi.

Hi iam landing in delhi on the 15th Jan.. surya grahan. i understand we cannot eat during this time what are the time starting and finish. i am diabetic plus will be jet lagged any suggestions plz.
January 15 2010 surya grahan will take place between 1 and 2 pm in India. So try to eat before that time. One thing is sure that, who are suffering from any ailments and old people are referred to as children during Grahan. They may be relieved from these rituals. But anyways try to avoid eating during grahan i.e. 1 to 2 pm on 15 January 2010.

It will be best seen in the Maldives where annular eclipse can be observed for up to 10 minutes. The sky is expected to extremely clear on 15th January. So the best spot to observe total Jan 15 eclipse would the Maldives. This article does not include Maldives as a country where eclipse is observed.
