Thyagaraja Aradhana
Thyagaraja Aradhana or Thyagaraya Aradhanotsavam is a tribute to saint composer Sri Tyagaraja swamy. In 2024, Thiruvaiyaru Thyagaraja Aradhana date is January 30, Tuesday.
The 177th aradhana of saint composer Sri Thyagaraja Swamigal will be held between January 26 and January 30 at the saint’s Samadhi on the banks of Cauvery in Thiruvaiyaru.
Actual aradhana, when musicians will sing the pancharathna kritis of the saint in chorus, will be held on 30 January, Pushya Bagula Panchami day when the saint attained samadhi. Musicians will sing in chorus between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. on January 30.
On aradhana day, Mahabishekam will be performed to the idol of Thyagaraja at the samadhi. Unchavruthi bhajan will be taken out from the residence of the saint on Thirumanjana Veedhi to the samadhi. Procession of the idol of Sri Thyagaraja will be taken out with Pancharathna Mallari music on January 30th, evening.
It is celebrated worldwide but Thiruvaiyaru Thyagaraja Aradhana is the most famous celebration which observed as Pancharatna Kriti festival.
Sri Thyaraja swamy was the saint composer who composed many kritis or sankeerthanas in carnatic music. He lived in Thiruvaiyaru, Thanjavur district in Tamil Nadu in 19th Century. The famous Thyagaraja Aradhana Utsavam is held at his Samadhi on Pushya Bahula Panchami, the fifth day in second half of Pushya Masam.

It’s on 11th January 2023.especially Bakula panchami &pancharathna krithis goshti gayana.In some panchanga &calenders,it has mentioned 12th of jan but now I got the information directly from Thiruvaiyaru tyagara aradhana committee.They have confirmed on 11th jan,Wednesday 2023 from 8.30a.m. Onwards
