Vijayawada Sabarimala special trains and Machilipatnam Sabarimala special trains for Ayyappa Yatra 2009-2010

For Ayyappa Yatra 2009-2010, South Central Railway will run special trains from Vijayawada and Machilipatnam (Bandar) to clear extra rush. Many other trains will run via Vijayawada to clear the congestion for Ayyappa deeksha performers.

Vijayawada – Kollam Sabarimala special trains for 2009-2010 season:

Special train number 730 will start from Vijayawada at 7’0 clock in the night on December 9, 2009. Train number 730-B will start from Vijayawada on December 16, 2009, January 1 and 2 in 2010 at 11’0 clock in the night.

Kollam – Vijayawada Sabarimala special trains for 2009-2010 season:

In return journey, Kollam – Vijayawada special train number 729 will start from Kollam at 11.50 in night on December 10, 2009. Train number 729-B will start from Kollam to Vijayawada on December 10, 14, and 23 in 2009 at 2.15 am.

Machilipatnam – Kollam and Kollam – Machilipatnam Sabarimala special trains for 2009-2010 seasons:

Special train number 730-A will start from Machilipatnam at 4.30 in the evening on December 12, 2009. In return journey, 729-A train will start from Kollam to Machilipatnam at night 11.50 on December 13, 2009.

Sabarimala Special Trains from Hyderabad for Ayyappa Pilgrimage 2009-2010

Sabarimala special trains will run by South Central Railway from December 6, 2009 to January 18, 2010. Hyderabad – Kollam (via Vijayawada) special train number 766 will start from Hyderabad at 1 pm on below given dates in December, 2009 – December 6, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, and 30. In January, 2010, the special trains will start from Hyderabad at 1 pm on below listed dates – January 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, and 17.

From Kollam Sabarimala special train number 755 to Hyderabad will start at 11.50 hrs in the night on given dates in December, 2009 – December 7, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, and 31. In January, 2010, the special train will start from Kollam to Hyderabad at 11.50 in the night on below mentioned dates – January 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, and 18.

Sabarimala Special Train number 766-A will run via Nadikudi and Guntur. The train will start from Hyderabad at 1 pm on – December 3, 10, 17 and 31 in 2009 and January 7 and 14 in 2010. During return journey, the special train number 765-A will start from Kollam to Hyderabad via Nadikudi and Guntur at 11.50 in the night on 4, 11, 18 in December 2009 and on January 1, 8, 15 in 2010.

Sabarimala Special Trains for 2009 – 2010 season from Andhra Pradesh – Special SCR Trains to Sabarimala

To clear extra rush of Ayyappa pilgrims of Andhra Pradesh cities and towns, South Central Railway (SCR) will run special trains in December 2009, and January 2010. The trains will start from Kakinada, Vijayawada, Machilipatnam, Narsapur, Sirpur Kagaznagar, Nizamabad, Aurangabad and Akola and reach Kollam.

The Hindu reports:

  • The South Central Railway will run several special trains to clear extra rush of passenger traffic, including pilgrims bound for Sabarimala, from Kakinada Town, Vijayawada, Machilipatnam, Narsapur, Sirpurkagaznagar, Nizamabad, Aurangabad and Akola to Kollam and in return direction between December 1, 2009 and January 19, 2010. Advance reservations for the special trains will be open from November 22, 2009.
  • Train No. 744 Kakinada Town special will leave on December 1, 2, 5, 6, 9, 10, 13, 14, 17, 18, 22, 23, January 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 at 8 p.m. and arrive at Kollam at 12.15 a.m. the second day. In return direction, train No. 743 will depart from Kollam on December 3, 4, 7, 8, 11, 12, 15, 16, 19, 20, 24, 25, January 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 at 2.15 a.m. and reach Kakinada Town at 5 a.m. the next day.
  • Train No.730 Vijayawada special will depart on December 2 and 9 at 7 p.m. and reach Kollam at 10 p.m. the next day. In return direction, train No. 729 will leave Kollam on December 3 and 10 at 11.50 p.m. and reach Vijayawada at 10.30 p.m. the next day.
  • Train No.730A Machilipatnam special will leave Machilipatnam on December 5 and 12 at 4.30 p.m. and reach Kollam at 10 p.m. the next day. In return direction, train No. 729A will depart from Kollam on December 6 and 13 at 11.50 p.m. and reach Machilipatnam at 2 a.m. the second day.
  • Train No.730B Vijayawada special will depart from Vijayawada on December 3, 16, January 1 and 2 at 11 p.m. and reach Kollam at 12.15 a.m. the second day. In the return direction, Train No. 729B Kollam – Vijayawada Special train will leave from Kollam on December 10, 14, 23 at 2.15 a.m. and reach Vijayawada at 2.30 a.m. the next day.

Sabarimala Special Trains during 2009 – 2010

Sabarimala special trains will be run by Southern Railway from Chennai to Kollam during the Ayyappa pilgrim season during November 2009, December 2009 and January 2010. Advance reservations have been started already. Railways will be expecting thousands to lakhs of devotees will utilize this facility.

Times of India reports:

  • The Chennai Central Kollam special (0655) will leave Chennai Central at 3.15pm on Fridays from November 20 to January 15 and arrive at Kollam at 5.30am the next day.
  • The Kollam Chennai Central special (0656) will leave Kollam at 12 noon on Saturdays from November 21 to January 16 and arrive t Chennai Central at 4am the next day.
  • The Chennai Central Kollam special (0671) will leave Chennai Central at 3.15pm on Mondays from November 16 to January 18 and arrive at Kollam at 5.30am the next day.
  • The Kollam Chennai Central (0672) special will leave Kollam at 12 noon on Tuesdays from November 17 to January 19 and arrive at Chennai Central at 4am the next day.
  • The Chennai Central Kollam special (0653) will leave Chennai Central at 3.15pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from November 14 to January 16 and arrive at Kollam at 5.30am the next day.
  • The Kollam Chennai Central special (0654) will leave Kollam at 12 noon on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from November 15 to January 17 and arrive at Chennai Central at 4am the next day.
