Bathukamma 2009 Celebrations by Telangana Jagruti – Bathkamma Jathara

Bathukamma festival is the biggest cultural festival of Telangana region in Andhra Pradesh. Bathukamma 2009 date is September 26. The festival starts on September 19 and ends on 26th. This year, Telangana Jagruti, a cultural organization, will celebrate Batukamma vedukalu in the association of TV9 News Network and Andhra Jyothi.

The organization is going to organize the proud fest of Telangana in every town and village in the state, New Delhi and in United States of America, Australia, UK and Dubai from the first day of Durga Navaratri. The celebrations may end on Bathukamma pandaga (the culmination or immersion day of Bathkamma). Jagruti is planning to organize Jatharas (fairs) in selected places in Telangana region.

Bathukamma Panduga or Bathukamma festival is the largest regional festival in Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh. In 2010, the date of Bathukamma festival is October 15. Bathukamma panduga starts on Mahalaya Amavasya which falls on September October 7 in 2010 and ends on October 15, 2010 with Chaddula Bathukamma or Pedda Bathukamma or Chattala Bathukamma. Bathukamma Festival is observed on the Durgashtami or Maha Ashtami day. In Andhra Pradesh, Bathukamma Panduga is the most celebrated festival during Durga Saran Navaratri.

Bathukamma Panduga – 9 Festive days during Durga Navaratri in Telangana:

First day of Bathukamma festival is called as Engili Poola Bathukamma which falls on October 7 in 2010. The sixth day of Bathukamma is Arremu which falls on October 12 in 2010. During Bathukamma panduga, Gauri Puja is the main ritual to observe. Gauri Puja is performed in a very simple way by singing some special songs on Bathukamma (Goddess Gauri).

Goddess Gowri is worshipped in the form of Bathukamma during 9-day Bathukamma festival. On Chaddula Bathukamma festival (October 15 in 2010), Bathukamma nimajjanam or vallarimpu is performed.

Batukamma Panduga (Batukamma Festival) is the biggest festival in Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh, India. Batukamma 2010 date is October 15, 2010. On this festival, Batukammas are worshipped. Batukamma is the representation of Patron Goddess – Maha Gauri.

The fetival is celebrated during the nine days of Durga Navratri (September – October). In 2010, Batukamma festival is celebrated from 7th October to October 15th, 2010. Chaddula Batukamm is celebrated on October 15th in 2010. This is the culmination day for Batukamma festival.
