Payo Vratham is a vow dedicated to Lord Vishnu especially observed in some regions in Andhra Pradesh during Phalguna masam. Payo Vratham is observed for 12 days which starts on Phalguna Shukla Padyami and ends on Phalguna Shukla Dwadashi. It is mentioned in Shri Bhagavatham. In 2010, Payo Vratham will start on February 15 and end on February 26, 2010.
Lord Vishnu is offered Ksheerannam or the rice boiled in milk during the vratam. It is believed that by observing the vratam, Aditi Devi has got Lord Vamana as her son. Go Daanam (donating cow), Dhanya daanam, and vasthra daanam are highly meritorious deeds to perform in Falguna masam.

Medaram Jatara, popularly known as Sammakka Sarakka Jathara, is a tribal festival dedicated to Sammakka and Sarakka, two tribal Goddesses, celebrated at Medaram village in Eturunagaram forest area in Warangal district of Andhra Pradesh. Medaram is a village in thick forest which transforms into a cosmopolis during this Jathara. Medaram Jathara in 2010 will start on January 27 and end on January 30, 2010. It is celebrated for four days in Magha masam or Magh month.
Medaram Sammakka Sarakka Jatara is the second largest religious congregation after the Maha Kumbh Mela. The celebrations commemorate the furious fight of a mother and daughter, Sammakka and Sarakka, against the cruel and wicked rulers.
Medaram Sammakka Sarakka Jathara attracts approximately seven million devotees all across India mainly from Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Orissa, and Karnataka. Thousands of foreign tourists visit the tribal fair and enjoy the tribal spirit. The major ritual during the fair is offering Bangaram (Jaggery) to the Goddesses. Colorful bullock carts are also stand as one of the attractive aspects of this largest tribal fair in the world. Pavitra Snanam in Japanna Vagu or the stream or rivulet near Medaram temple is considered highly auspicious.
Sammakka Saralamma Jathara, also known as Medaram Sammakka Sarakka Jatara, is the largest tribal fair in the world. It is held once in two years with lot of gusto for three day before Magha Purnima. In 2010, Medaram Sammakka Sarakka Jathara dates are – Jatara starts on 27 January, 2010 and ends on 30 January 2010. It is celebrated at Medaram village near Yeturu Nagaram of Warangal district in Andhra Pradesh.

27 January, 2010, Wednesday – Goddess Saralamma will arrive to Platform (Gadde).
28 January, 2010, Thursday – Goddess Sammakka will arrive to Platform (Gadde).
29 January, 2010, Friday – Devotees offer naivedyam or other offerings like ‘Bangaram’ (bellam – jaggery).
30 January, 2010, Saturday – Last day of Sammkka Sarakka Jathara. Goddess Sammakkar and Saralamma will return back in to forest.
Atla Taddi Bhogi is first day of Atla Taddi festival. After Atlataddi Bhogi day, Atla Taddi festival is celebrated. In 2009, Atla Taddi Bhogi date is October 5. It is observed on Ashwayuja Krishna Paksha Vidiya.
On this day, Telugu women wake up early morning and take ritual or ceremonial bath. In some places, Gauri Puja is also performed on the day. Gorintaku (Mehndi) designs are drawn on their hands during the day. This is the main ritual on Atla Taddi Bhogi. Thambulam (betel nut leaf) is taken after meals. Preparations for Atla Thaddi are done on Atla Thaddi Bhogi.
