Surya Grahan or Solar Eclipse in 2012 will take place for two times. The first Surya Grahan occurs on 20 May 2012 and the second Surya Grahanam takes place on 13 November 2012. The Surya Grahanam of 20 May 2012 will be Annular Solar Eclipse whereas the Surya Grahanam of 13 November 2012 will be total solar eclipse or Sampoorna or Purna Surya Grahan.
- Annular Surya Grahan on 20 May 2012 will be mainly visible in China, Japan, United States of America, Canada, and some other Pacific countries. As per the Universal Time or GMT, Surya Grahan starts at 20:56:07 on 20 May and ends at 2:49:21 UTC on 21 May 2011.
- The second Surya Grahan of the year 2012 will occur on 13 November. This is the total solar eclipse or Purna Surya Grahan. This Total Solar Eclipse is visible over southern Pacific Ocean. It is visible in Australia, New Zealand, Chile, and some other South Pacific countries.
