Shani Amavasya December 2011

Shani Amavasya, No Moon day which falls on Sanivar (Saturday), is an auspicious Amavasya day for any Hindu rituals and pujas. On 24 December 2011, Amavasya falls as Shani Amavasya. This is Poush Amavasya in North Indian Hindi calendars and Margashirsha Amavasya in Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada & Telugu Panchangams. Shani Amavasya is a highly meritorious day to perform Shani dosha pujas and Shani Peyarchi Dosha Puja (Shani Transition remedies).

Amavasya December 2011 begins at 2.01 am on 24 December & ends at 11.36 hrs night on the same day. Pitru tharpanam and panda daanam are the auspicious rituals observed on this day.
