Satudi Teej Vrat

Satudi Teej Vrat is a famous vrata observed in Bhadrapad Month (Bhadrapada Krishna Paksha Tritiya). In 2016, Satudi Teej Vrat date is August 21. It is popularly observed in North Indian states like – Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand.

Satudi Teej is also celebrated as Kajali Teej Vrata in other parts of India.

On this day, Lord Krishna is worshipped with Shodashopachar Puja. As it is a women-centric festival, young girls and married women celebrate it in jubilant manner for health, wealth and blissful marital life.

Satudi Teej is similar to that of Atla Thaddi festival which is celebrated in Andhra Pradesh. In similar manner, girls dance and sing songs praising Lord Krishna and Radha.
