2 August 2014 is Sashti Viratham. It is one of the most auspicious Sashti fasting day as it is highly meritoriously observed as Supoudan Varna Shashti, Shriyal Shashti, Kalki Jayanti. It falls in Aadi Masam in Tamil calendar.

In Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, some North Indian places, and Nepal it is observed as Supodan Sashti. It falls in Shravan month as per the above calendars.

The other Sashti in August 2014 are – 15 August and 31 August. These Sashti tithis fall in Aadi Masam and Aavani Masam respectively.
