Sankatahara Chaturthi or Sankashti Chaturthi is the auspicious vrata dedicated to Lord Ganesha. In October 2010, Sankashti is observed on Tuesday hence it is also known as Angarak Chaturthi or Angarak Sankat Chauth. Sankat Chouth October 2010 date is October 26, Tuesday. It falls in Kartik month as per Hindi calendars and in Ashwin month as per Telugu, Marathi, Kannada, and Gujarati calendars.
This Sankashti is celebrated as Karwa Chouth in North India. It is one of most popular festivals in the Northern regions of India. Chandrodaya Uma Vratham is observed in South India on this day.
