Sankashti December 2010 – Sankatahara Chaturthi in December 2010

Sankashti, also known as Ganesha Sankatahara Chaturthi or Sankata Vinayaka Chavithi, is an auspicious day to observe Ganapati pujan. Sankashti Chaturthi December 2010 date is December 24, Friday. Sankashti Ganapati vrata is observed on fourth day of Krishna paksha in every Hindu month. In December 2010, Sankashti Chavithi begins on 24th December at 8.10 am and ends at 5.48 am on 25th. It falls in Margashirsha month as per Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, and Telugu calendars whereas it is in Paush month as per North Indian Hindi calendars.

Chandrodaya time or Moon rise time on 24th December 2010 is 9.15 pm (in Maharashtra, and some parts of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Gujarat). Devotees who observe sankashti will break their fast after moonrise. It is to note that moonrise time may differ for few minutes from place to place as per Indian Standard Time (IST).
