Pranaya Kalahotsavam in Tirumala Tirupati Temple

Pranaya Kalahotsavam in Tirumala Tirupati Temple is an auspicious event held in January. In 2017, Pranaya Kalahotsavam date is January 13, Friday.

It is performed with religious fervour in Tirumala Temple. Thousands of devotees witness the celestial event.

During this ritual, the processional deities – Lord Malayappa Swamy and his two consorts are brought to Sri Varaha Swamy Temple on separate Bangalu Pallaki (golden palanquins) along the four Mada Streets from Vaibhavotsava Mandapam.

The priests recite some Pasurams from Alwar Divya Prabandham in Ninda Stuti style. ‘Ninda Stuti’ means praising the Lord with the tone of criticism.

The Lord tries to escape from the floral balls thrown by his consorts and how He pacifies his consorts makes the end of the ritual of Pranaya Kalahotsavam.
