June 2010 Purnima – Date of Full Moon day in June 2010

Purnima, also spelt as Poornima or Pournami, is the Full Moon day in Hinduism. Purnima June 2011 date is June 15, Wednesday. June 2011 Purnima is known as Jyeshta Purnima, Full Moon day in Jyeshta month, as per North Indian Hindi calendars. It marks the end of Jyeshta month in North Indian lunar calendars and it is the final day in Shukla paksha of Jyeshtha month in Marathi, Gujarati, Telugu and Kannada calendars.

Purnima June 2011 Time is – purnima begins at 03.37 am on 15 June and ends at 01.43 am on 16 June 2011.

June 2011 Purnima (Jyeshta Purnima) is celebrated as Jagannath Purnima / Snan Purnima / Devasnana Purnima in Orissa, especially at Puri Jagannath Temple. It is also celebrated as Eruvaka Punnami (Yeruvaka Purnima) in Andhra Pradesh and some parts of Karnataka. In some areas, it is also celebrated as Krushi Purnima. Vat Savitri Vrat or Vat Purnima Vrat is also observed on Jyeshta Purnima day.

On June 15, 2011 (Jyeshta Purnima), Purna Chandra Grahan will take place. It will be visible in some areas of North Eastern India.
