According to the Hindu traditional calendar, in Ashvina month, the Ekadashi occurring is known as Pashankusha Ekadashi. It is to be highly noted that the significance of Pashankusha Ekadashi is largely mentioned in Brahma Vaivarta Purana through a dialogue between King Yudhisthira and Bhagavan Sri Krishna.
It is to be remembered that Pashankusha Ekadashi is considered to be a great purifier of sins and evil acts. On this particular day the Padmanabha form of Lord Vishnu is to be especially worshipped with lot of dedication and devotion in a grand manner. As per worshipping of Shri Hari, the Padmanabha form, a devotee would beget all wishes and desired fruits and wholehearted results.
It is to be noted that the outcome is equivalent to all those obtained by conducting great penance by worshipping Padmanabha and with extreme sense control are obtained on this day. A devotee who observes Vrat or fasts on this religiously important ekadashi would never and ever go to hell. A devotee also begets the outcome of bathing or having a dip in all holy or sacred tirthas by performing the Nama Sankirtana of Lord Vishnu on this particular day.
It is also strongly believed that not even hundred Raja Suya Yagas or thousand Ashvamedha Yagas would match the Vrat or fast on an Ekadashi Day because it is very auspicious and religiously important.
