Online registrations for Amarnath Yatra 2013 will begin from March 18, 2013. You can obtain the registration forms from the official website of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board. Amarnath Yatra 2013 begins on June 28 and ends on August 21. The yatra dates are same for both the routes – Baltal and Chandanwari routes.
Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board has increased the number of registration counters from 272 to 422 in 2013. The registration forms can be collected from any other designated j&K Bank and YES BANK branches or downloaded from the website of the temple board.
Amarnath Yatra registration will be done through a Yatra permit which will be issued on the submission of the form, along with the payment of Rs. 15 per pilgrim.

Amarnath pilgrims Death can be avoided by following measures:-
1- Don’t use camphor inhalation enroute. This reduced volume of Oxygen per breath.
2- Take one day rest after every 5000 feet of height to allow acclimatization of vital organs.
3- Take sufficient liquid as juice, electrolyte, water etc.
4- Deploy allopath doctors preferably HINDU only with sufficient emergency medicines.
5- Minimize stay near cave in night.
6- Minimize opening of Prasad-Shops near cave.
7- The holy cave is surrounded from 3 sides by mountain limiting the air/oxygen flow from outside.
Treatment
1- Metabolic acidosis ensues very early as a result of paucity of oxygen at heights. Again it worsen further if per breath oxygen is replaced by camphor, fog vapor. Also the total proportion of oxygen decreases due to increased number of person animals staying in cave every night. More shorty of helicopters also supplements this problem.
2- I have countered so many cases with severe headache, vomiting, respiratory problems but could be able to treat them successfully on metabolic acidosis line & kept death toll nil in BSF med camp at Cave against more than 14-15 deaths on cave only in 2003 & 2005 when I was providing medical cover there.
