Pookalam Competition by Malayala Manorama!!! Was it completion to select the worst ‘Pookalam’????By any parameters i.e, design, innovation, convention, artistic talent, the first prize winning one was not a stand alone one. doubt whether it fulfilled the yardstick put in place by organizers. Think twice before participating!!!!
I felt vary bad by seeing judgement. It is not Pookkala Malsram..it is POO STAR competition. 99.99% of total participants and audience elected our as best one. Time to think before going for these type of competitions.

This time 2013 pookalam competition result was really disappointing. The prize winning pookalam didn’t match the basic criteria or the rule that the pookalkalam should be in round or in square shape of Manorama.they have not also checked the percentage of leaves and flowers in the kalam the winning design was a star fish and filled majority with beetle leaves. All the participants were disappointed. Manaroma team showed their helplessness of Judges decision. I really don’t understand then why they make rules and why we have to break our mind to create complicated designs, put our full energy and spend soo much money to buy the max.numbers of flower to make it more colorful. All the team participated were disappointed many of them are going to withdraw from further participation in this Manorama’s Pookalam Competiotion.Very disappointing Judgement.
