Northern Railway extends Dussehra and Diwali special trains in 2010

Northern Railway of Indian Railways will extend the Dussehra or Durga Puja and Diwali special trains till November 2010. Initially Northern Railways have planned to run festival special trains till October – November but not they have decided to extend them till last week of November 2010. Here is the list of trains extended and their timetable:

  • Train number 0429/0430, the Lucknow-New Delhi special daily, which was scheduled to run up to 30th September only, has now been further extended to run from 1st October to 20th November, which means the train will make 51 trips when departing from Lucknow. Also it will run from 3rd October to 22nd November when departing from New Delhi which also counts to another 51 trips on this route.
  • Train number 0457/0458, the Varanasi-Anand Vihar Terminal Daily Express which was scheduled to run up to 30th September only, has been further extended to run from 1st October  to 20th November when departing from Varanasi and from 2nd October to 21st November when departing from Anand Vihar Terminal. This means the train will be making 21 trips from each side.
  • Train no 0403A/0404A, the Ananad Vihar terminal-Jammu Tawi Special is a tri-weekly express which was scheduled to run up to 30th September only, but has been further extended to run from 2nd October to 20th November when departing from Anand Vihar Terminal on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and from 3rd October to 21st November when departing from Jammu Tawi on every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The train will make 21 trips from each side.
  • Train no 0405A/0406A, the Anand Vihar Terminal-Jammu Tawi special is a weekly express and was scheduled to run up to 26th September only. The train has now been further extended to run from 3rd October to 14th November which means seven trips when departing from Anand Vihar Terminal on every Sunday and from 4th October to 15th November which makes seven trips when departing from Jammu Tawi on every Monday.
  • Train no 0465/0466, the Delhi Jn-Panipat special daily which was scheduled to run up to 30th September, has now been further extended to run from 1st October to 20th November. The train will make 51 trips during this season.
  • Train no. 2205A/2206A, the New Delhi-Dehradun weekly express which was scheduled to run up to 18th September only has been further extended to run from 25th September to 20th November when departing from New Delhi on every Saturday and from 26th September to 21st November when departing from Dehradun on every Sunday. Thus the train will have to make nine trips from each side during the rush season.
