Narsobawadi Temple | Narsobachi Wadi Dattatreya Temple

Narsobawadi Temple (Narsobachi Wadi Dattatreya Temple) is a famous temple of Lord Dattatreya. The holy Sri Kshetra Narsobawadi Temple is at the banks of confluence of River Krishna and Panchganga River.

Sri Narasimha Saraswati, the second incarnation of Sri Dattatreya Swamy, stayed at Narsobawadi for 12 years and performed penance. The sacred place is even more sanctified by the visit of many saints since then.

Narsobawadi is a small village located in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra.

Shri Nrusinha saraswati swamy stayed in this area which is full of Audumber trees for 12 years and he flourished this region. Shri Nrusinha saraswati while travelling (after completing Chaturmas at Audumbar), reached this place. The Padukas established by Swami are there in that temple. The Pancha Ganga Sagar, is the confluence of the five holy rivers, Siva, Bhadra, Kumbhi, Bhagwati and Saraswati, where they all meet and merge in the Krishna river.

Dattatreya Jayanti (Margashirsha Purnima), Guru Pratipada (Magha Krishna Pratipada), Sri Nrushima Saraswati Jayanti, Sri Guru Purnima (Ashada Pournami), Rishi Panchami (Swamyji’s Jayanti – Bhadrapada Shukla Panchami), Gokul Ashtami (Sri Krishna Janmashtami) and Shripada Shrivallabha Jayanti are the grand festivals celebrated here in Narsobawadi Temple. Gudi Padwa, Shravan Month, Ganesh Chaturthi, Devi Navratri, Dussehra, Dhanteras and Diwali, Kartik Month, etc. are some another festivals celebrated at this temple.
