Mahananda Navami Vrat

Mahananda Navami is observed on ninth day of Shukla Paksha of Magh Month in Hindu Calendar. In 2017, Mahananda Navami date is February 5.

There is no specific ritual is associated with this vrata expect performing ritual bath (Punya Snan) in Holy Rivers such as Ganga, Yamuna, Godavari, Tungabhadra, Cauvery, etc.

Shukla Paksha Navami in Magha Month is also observed as Madhva Navami by Madhva sect of Brahmins.

Harsu Brahm Jayanti is a festival celebrated at Harsu Brahm Temple at Chainpur in Kaimur district of Bihar.

As per some scriptures, Magh Shukla Navami is also observed as Drona Navami. It is dedicated to Dronacharya (the Master of Kauravas and Pandavas) in Mahabharata.
