London Hounslow Ganeshotsav Mandal’s Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations 2014 will be held on 29 and 30 August 2014. Hounslow Laxmi Narayan Temple would be the venue for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.

Ganpati festival of 2014 marks the 7th year of celebrations. Almost 4,000 devotees are set to attend the two-day program organised by the Hounslow Ganeshotsav Mandal (HGM). This 4 kgs idol will be immersed in River Thames after a lively procession involving a cavalcade of coaches and cars.

Vaibhav Raorane established the HGM in 2008 and soon brought on board the other committee members: Mahesh Shetty, Janhavi Kulkarni, Nitin Parte and Shreyas Kale, all Mumbaikars. The group now boasts of many more members from India and across the world.

Ganesh Chaturthi is grandly observed by all the Hindus in India and rest of the world with great devotion and dedication. This particular festival begins in Bhadrapada shukla chaturthi and ends in Anant Chaturdashi. As per the Georgian calendar, this festival falls in the month of August or September.

The grand celebrations is marked with the setting up of Pandals, installation of Lord Ganesh idol, street processions with much religious fun fare and idol immersion in the nearest water bodies like sea, river, lake or pond.
