Lakshmi Stotram to chant on Diwali: Deepavali Lakshmi Mantram

Lakshmi Puja is a main ritual observed on Diwali (Deepavali). According to Puranas and other Hindu Sacred texts, diya or deepam marks the presence of Lakshmi in that particular place.

Goddess Lakshmi is emerged to take away the darkness around us. There are some special stotras or prayers to praise and please Goddess Lakshmi.

Here is one of the Diwali Lakshmi stotras:

Nama shriyei lokadhaatraie brahmamathre namonamaha
Namasthe padmanethrayei padmamukhyei namonamaha ||

Prasanna mukha padmayei padma kanthyei namonamaha
Namo bilva vanasthayei Vishnu pathyei namonamaha ||

Vichitra kshama dharinyei pruthu shronyei namonamaha
Pakva bilva phalaapeena thungastasyei namonamaha ||

Suraktha padma prathabha karapaadathale shubhe
Sarathnangadha keyura kanchinupura shobhithe ||

Yakshakardama samliptha sarvange katakojhwale
Mangalyaa bharanaischithraei muktaharai rvibhushitey ||

Thaatankai ravatham saischa shobhamana mukhambhuje
Padmahasthe namasthubhyam praseeda harivallabhe ||

Rugvajussamarupayei vadyayaithe namonamaha
Praseedasmaan krupadrushti paathei raloka yabdhije
Yedrushtathe thwaya brahma rudrendrathwam samapnuyu ||
