Laghu Darshan or Laghu Darshanam in Tirupati Temple – Devotees to visit Lord Balaji from the nearest

Laghu Darshan or Laghu Darshanam is the new service which will be made mandatory in Tirumala Tirupati Venkateshwara temple on every Tuesday and Wednesday. This is another interesting initiative from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) by which ordinary pilgrims can visit Lord Balaji from the nearest. Laghu Darshan will come into effect in November first week of 2010. The temple administration has also changed the name of Seegra Darshan as Pratyeka Pravesha darshan.

TTD officials released a press release on 21st October 2010, saying the Lagh Darshan will be imposed in the place of Maha Laghu on every Tuesday and Wednesday. Now, ordinary devotees can visit the Lord of Seven Hills from a distance less than 25 feet, from close to Ramula vari Meda inside the Sanctum Sanctorum.
