Kasba Ganpati Temple in Pune is one of the popular Ganesh mandals & temples in Maharashtra, India. Started in 1893 by Lokmanya Tilak, Kasba Ganpati Mandal is privileged as the first honored Ganpati in Pune city.
Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav begins on Ganesh Chaturthi and ends on Anant Chaturdashi with Ganpati visarjan (immersion). In 2013, Ganeshotsav begins on 9 September & ends on 18 September.
During the 10-day festival of Ganeshotsav, Kasba Ganpati mandal also takes up various cultural and social events such as free eye-checkup, blood donation camps, bhajans & satsang programs. Women empowerment is another main objective of this mandal. Women volunteers manage the Ganeshotsav activities.
Ganesh immersion or visarjan is the important day in Ganeshotsav for Kasba Ganpati mandal as it leads the procession of visarjan in Pune. The immersion procession concludes at the banks of River Mula.
