12 February 2015 is Kalashtami. Also known as Kala Ashtami, Kalashtami falls on Ashtami tithi of Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) of every Hindu month.
Kalashtami is an auspicious day for the devotees of Lord Kalabhairava (a manifestation of Lord Shiva) who observe fasting on this day.
Kalashtami of 12 February 2015 falls in Magh Month as per Amavasyant calendars and in Falgun Month as per Purnimant (North Indian Hindi) calendars. It falls in Thai Masam of Tamil calendar, Makara Masam in Malayalam calendar and Magh Month in Bengali Panjika.
