Kadali Vrata, a Vrat dedicated to Banana Tree

Kadali Vrata or Kela Vrat is an auspicious vrat dedicated to worship Banana tree. It is observed on any auspicious day usually on Shukla Paksha Chaturdashi in Vaishakh Month or Magha month or Kartika month.

In 2014, Kadali Vrata date in Karthika Masam is November 5.

On that day, a banana tree is planted and nurtured till it bears fruits. It is performed for welfare of family members and prosperity of family.

Some devotees also worship a golden banana tree and it is offered to a Brahmin on any auspicious day after performing pooja.
