Jyeshtabhishekam in Tirumala Tirupati Venkateswara Temple – Jyeshta Abhishekam to Lord Balaji

The three day annual Jyeshtabhishekam, also known as Abhideyaka Abhishekam is held in Jyeshta month. It is held during Jyeshta nakshatra in Jyeshta maas at Tirumala Tirupati Sri Venkateswara swamy temple to Lord Balaji. In 2017, Jyeshtabhishekam begins on 7 June and ends on 9 June.

Abhishekam is performed to utsava murthulu of Lord Venkateswara and his consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi.

After Jyeshta Abhishekam ritual, the Varjakavacham (diamond studded armour) is adorned to the Lord and taken out in a procession around the four Mada streets (Thiru Maada veedhulu).

On second day, Muthyakavacham (pearl studded armour) and on last day Suvarnakavacham or Abhideyaka kavas am (golden armour) are adorned to the Lord.
