Jwalamukhi Temple, located in Kangra district in Himachal Pradesh, is one of the powerful Shakti Peetha temples in India. Chaitra Navratri or Vasant Navratri is the popular festival held at the temple in March-April.
In 2017, Sharad Navratri Jwalamukhi Mela begins on September 21 and ends on September 30. Jwalamukhi Navratri Mela 2017 starts on March 28 and ends on 5 April. The festival is held for 10 days with utmost gusto.
There is no idol in Jwalamukhi temple. Nine flames are worshipped as the idol hence the Mother Goddess is known as Jwalamukhi here.
Devotees from all over North Indian states – Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, etc., visit the temple during Navratri Mela.
