In Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka this festival is celebrated as Ugadi. Marathi people celebrate it as Gudi Padwa. In Kashmir, it is popular as Navreh.
In North Indian states, Nav Varsh is celebrated. It is a big festival to all those who follow lunar Hindu calendar (Chandramana Panchangam either Purnimant or Amavasyant).
In Goa, Chandramana Ugadi is famously celebrated as Sanvar Padwa or Samvatsar Padvo.
Cheti Chand or Sindhi New Year is celebrated on Chaitra Shukla Dwitiya. In 2013, it is on April 11.

Saura Samvatsara Ugadi (Solar Hindu New Year day) is celebrated on Mesha Sankranti in Tamil Nadu and Kerala as Chithirai Vishu and Vishu respectively. In 2013, Saura Ugadi falls on April 14. Bengali New Year 2013 (Bengali Year 1420) falls on 14 April 2013. On the same day, Assamese New Year (Bohag Bihu) is also celebrated.
