Guru Purnima Garuda Seva at TTD Temple on 9 July 2017.. The processional deity of Lord Malayappa Swamy took a celestial ride on His favourite vahanam Garuda and blessed the devotees along the four mada streets between 7pm and 9pm on auspicious occasion of Guru Pournami on Tuesday evening.

Among the most important festivals of Hindu Sanatana Dharma, Guru Purnima is considered to be auspicious which is also known as Vyasa Purnima as Maharshi Veda Vyasa penned the Mahabharata with over one lakh slokas in sanskrit and pioneered the world of wisdom.
The five pournimas falling between Ashada and Kartika months have religious significance and known as Vyasa Pournima.
