Ganga Snan on Baisakhi Festival in Haridwar, Rishikesh

Ganga Snan on Baisakhi festival is considered very auspicious. Mesha Sankranti which marks the Solar New Year in Punjab, Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala (Astrologically).

In 2017, Baisakhi date is 14 April. Pohela Boishakh, Rongali Bihu, and Vishu are also celebrated on 14 April. Lakhs of devotees take holy dip in Ganga River at Haridwar, Rishikesh, and other holy places like Triveni Sangam at Allahabad.

In 2017, it is estimated that nearly 5 lakh people will take holy dip on Baisakhi day in Haridwar and Rishikesh.

Devotees from Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Assam converged on the ghats to celebrate Baisakhi festival.
