Chinmaya Mission Temple, Los Angeles, California (USA)

Lord Shiva Temple is located in Los Angeles, in the state of California, in United State of America. This temple was consecrated successfully on 19th February 1997.

According to the Hindu religious scholars and pundits, “ Kasi symbolically indicates the brilliance and splendor of Consciousness that shines in the dawn of spiritual wisdom.’

It is to be highly noted that the Shiva Linga was successfully consecrated by Swami Chidananda. On the other hand, on 4th August 1997, the idol of Lord Shiva was greatly installed by Pujya Swami Tejomayananda.

It is to be highly observed that daily pujas and rituals for the devotees and pilgrims who drop in from far and near. It is a shrine which is a centre of cultural, educational and spiritual activities are largely conducted at a large extent for all the Hindus.

This temple is managed and administered by the Chinmaya Mission Los Angeles. This temple is open from early morning hours to early mid-noon and later in the late evening hours to dusk. On the other hand, during the religious important days and auspicious days, the temple remains open for long hours from early morning hours to dusk for the pilgrims and devotees.

Local devotees visit this temple daily with great devotion and dedication. The head priest of this temple performs daily pujas and rituals for the people who visit this shrine. There is good parking lot in this temple complex for all types of vehicles. Pujas and rituals are performed according to Vedic practices.

Ugadi (Telugu New Year / Kannada New Year), Gudi Padwa (Marathi New Year), Sri Rama Navami, Guru Purnima, Shravan Month, Navratri, Karthik Month, and Maha Shivaratri are the big festivals celebrated in Chinmaya Mission Temple.
