Here are Chaitra Month 2014 dates. Chaitra month or Chait Mahina is the first month in Hindu calendar or Hindu Panchang. In 2014, Chaitra month starts on March 17 and end on April 15 as per North Indian Hindu calendar followed in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Himachal, Uttaranchal, and Chhattisgarh.

    In north no doubt Chait month starts after Holi but “New Year” is celeberated on the very first day of Navmi that I think fall on 11 itself. So as per my knowledge Hindu New Year in celebrated mostly on the same day in most part of India. Why can’t we Hindu have a common calender.
