Balapur Ganesh laddu 2017 is all set to get a record price in auction which is being held by bidding at Balapur Ganesh Utsava Samithi, Hyderabad on 5 September 2017 prior the beginning of Ganesh Nimajjanam Shobha Yatra.
Nagam Tirupati Reddy of Ayyappa Society, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad has got the Laddu for 15.60 lakh rupees. And he handed over the money to Balapur Ganesh Utsava Samithi on the spot after winning the Laddu and took the Laddu.
So far only nine people had registered their names as bidders by paying Rs 500 as fee. He hoped that there would be more number of bidderson Monday and the auction amount would set yet another new record. Last year there were 25 bidders. The laddu would go for auction on Tuesday (5 September 2017) the day of Ganesh Nimajjanam Shobha Yatra of city Ganesh idols.
The organisers said the laddu auction money is spent on the development of the Balapur village. The successful bidder can pay the money offered at the bidding the next year if he or she happens to be from Balapur village. But in case the bidder happens to be out of the village, he would be asked to pay the money on the spot.
In 2016, Balapur laddu auction price was Rs 14,65,000 (14 lakh 65 thousand rupees). A part of laddu is distributed among devotees, and the remaining laddu is sprinkled in fields (farms) of the devotee who gets the laddu in auction for better crop. All the devotees who had won the laddu in auction were benefitted hugely, hence it has become more and more popular.
