Anant Chaturdashi (Anant Chaturthi)

Anant Chatudashi (Anant Chaturthi) is the auspicious day which falls on the fourteenth day of Shukla Paksha in Bhadrapad month. In 2020, Ananta Chaturdashi date is September 1.

On Anant Chaturdasi day, Ananta Padmanabha Swamy (Lord Vishnu) is worshipped. Anant Vrat or Ananta Vratham is observed on Anant Chaturdashi for wellness of devotees families.

Anant Chaturthi is observed on the tenth day after Ganesh Chavithi, observed in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

Ganesh Navratri is continued till Anant Chaturdashi from Vinayaka Chavithi, for ten days. Ganesh Nimajjan or Ganapati immersion takes place on Anant Chaturdasi in most of the places in India. Ananta Chautrdashi is the culmination day for Ganesh Navarathri.
